CFSSP Awards
Members of the Connestee Falls Student Scholarship Program committee recently approved awarding a total of $106,500 in scholarship funds to students from Transylvania County Schools, Brevard College, and Blue Ridge Community College for the coming year. This amount represents an increase of $16,500 over their previous total of $90,000. The Connestee Falls Student Scholarship Program was begun in 1987 with just one scholarship. It has expanded each year and continues to grow (15 scholarships were awarded last year). We greatly appreciate the generosity and hard work of the Connestee Falls residents, volunteers, and community individuals and businesses who donate and raise funds each year to support our students. Scholarship chairman Bill Medl and other committee members will be here to present a check for this year’s scholarship awards.
CDPT Certification
Congratulations to Transportation Director Alan Justice who was recently named as a Certified Director of Pupil Transportation (CDPT) by the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT). Candidates for professional CDPT certification must demonstrate their knowledge and commitment to the student transportation profession, complete required coursework, and pass a rigorous exam. Well done, Mr. Justice!
2018 Inductions to the RHS Alumni Hall of Fame
At its home football game on October 26, Rosman High School inducted five new candidates into its Alumni Hall of Fame. The inductees included an award-winning high school basketball coach; a professional archer; a construction contractor dedicated to public service; a community founder; and a beloved youth football coach.
