The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is applying for 2024 Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles (CHDV) Grant funding for a new electric school bus for Transylvania County Schools. The attached certification form is a new requirement from DPI that it intended to signify that local boards of education are aware that their school system is applying for an electric school bus. Due to a very short turnaround time, the form had to be signed and returned by July 12 in order to maintain funding eligibility. Dr. Brian Weaver will review the funding process and answer any questions you may have.
