Representatives from Axias, Inc., the company that has been hired by the County to perform the Transylvania County building conditions assessment, will be here the week of July 24 to begin looking at school facilities.  Lead Assessor David Evans reported that the assessors prefer to start at the top of the building on the roof (if accessible), and work downwards throughout the interior spaces.  They will need access to the roof areas, as well as most interior spaces and all mechanical/electrical rooms.  They prefer to be escorted around the buildings by a member of the facilities team if possible – this greatly speeds up the assessment process and allows them to complete the assessment with minimal disturbance.  Plant Operations Supervisor Jason Merrill and others will accompany the assessment teams.  The following schedule has been proposed:
