Each year at it first meeting in June, the Transylvania County Board of Education recognizes the employees who have retired or will be retiring during the current school year. Some of the retirees have spent their entire careers with the Transylvania County Schools, and some have worked in other school systems in addition to Transylvania. The 21 people being recognized this evening represent a combined total of 489.5 years in public education. The board would like to present gifts of appreciation and offer thanks and commendations to the individuals named below for their years of service to public education and the Transylvania County Schools. Following the awards, the board will take a short recess for retirees and guests to enjoy refreshments.
