Special recognition will be given to Alice K. Wellborn, whose tenure on the Transylvania County Board of Education will conclude this month. Mrs. Wellborn was elected to the board in November 2016. During her four years on the board, and throughout her career with the school system before that, Mrs. Wellborn has devoted countless hours to improving services and programs for the students and staff of Transylvania County Schools. The board will present an engraved plaque to Mrs. Wellborn in appreciation for her outstanding contributions and leadership as a school board member. Members also will have an opportunity to express their thoughts to Mrs. Wellborn.
