Board policy 2200, Election of Officers/Organization of Board, states that the board will elect a chairperson and a vice-chairperson to serve for a term of one year or until his or her successor is elected and qualified by taking the oath of office. An organizational meeting for the election of officers will be held at the regularly scheduled December meeting of the board and as often thereafter as the board determines appropriate. Policy 2450, Suspension of Board Policies, allows the temporary suspension of any section or sections of board policies by a majority vote of board members present at a meeting. At the last meeting, the board voted to suspend the election of officers in accordance with policy 2450 until no later than January 2020.
The board may elect officers for 2020 at this time.
