TCS Transportation Director Keith Wilmot Invited to Serve on NCDPI Bus Safety Inspection Manual Delegation
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction recently invited Transylvania County Schools Transportation Director Keith Wilmot to serve on the committee to update the 30-Day Inspection Manual for the State of North Carolina, which is part of the State Board of Education Policy TRAN-005. This manual is the guideline for all school bus inspectors across the state, as well as the Department, and indicates the items on a school bus which need to be assessed, what conditions are considered defects and must be repaired, and when those defects mean a bus must not be operated until repaired. The committee is comprised of representatives from nine regions, the State Highway Patrol, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, NCDPI Field Consultants, and other organizations. Mr. Wilmot was invited to serve on the delegation based on his wealth of knowledge and expertise in pupil transportation. Congratulations, Mr. Wilmot.
