|
North Carolina calendar law requires that schools begin no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and close no later than the Friday closest to June 11. If approved for a weather-related waiver, the opening date may be no earlier than the Monday closest to August 19. Transylvania County Schools qualifies for a weather-related calendar waiver for the 2021-2022 school year (see attached).
A motion is in order to approve the calendar waiver request for the 2021-2022 school year.
