Special recognition will be given to Mrs. Cindy Petit, whose term on the Transylvania County Board of Education concludes at the end of November. Mrs. Petit was elected to the board in November 2008 and was re-elected for a second term in 2012. Mrs. Petit served three years as vice chairman of the board from 2013 through 2015. She has given countless hours over the years working to improve educational services and facilities for the students and families in our community.
The board will present an engraved plaque as a token of its thanks and appreciation to Mrs. Petit for her years of outstanding service and leadership. Board members will have an opportunity to share their thoughts, which will be followed by a brief recess and reception in Mrs. Petit’s honor.
