On April 25-27, 2005, Transylvania County Schools hosted a three-day visit by a Quality Assurance Review Team for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS/CASI). During the visit, the team gathered data and evidence by inteviewing a wide range of system and school level stakeholders in order to understand the vision and mission of the school district and evaluate the appropriateness of the goals and the effectiveness of the strategies used to achieve them. They examined evidence from multiple sources that these strategies are in place and that they are working to result in continuous improvement. If this is found to be the case, the team will recommend District Accreditation be awarded by SACS/CASI. The Quality Assurance Team will present its findings for Transylvania County Schools and make a recommendation to the Board.

Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(1) and 115C-319, the Board will convene in closed session to discuss information that is not a public record (employee personnel files). A motion is in order to convene in closed session.
