Gates Scholarship Recipient – Out of more than 61,000 nationwide applicants, 2026 Brevard High School graduate Keirra Hall was one of a very minute group who was awarded a Gates Scholarship.
The Gates Scholarship, established by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, covers the full cost of college that is not already covered by financial aid. It is a prestigious award that not only requires a top-tier academic performance, but it is further based on exceptional leadership and personal success skills.
Keirra, who was a state-level voice and thespian representative for BHS, never earned anything less than an A during her entire academic career and still managed to log in excess of 200 volunteer hours at The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County.
Keirra will be attending Furman University this fall, where she was awarded merit and music scholarships. Additionally, Keirra earned separate scholarships from Champion Credit Union and the Connestee Falls Scholarship Foundation.
