i. Joint School Bond Projects Update

Project Manager Beecher Allison will update the Board regarding the ongoing and slated Joint School Bond Projects.

ii. Rosman Elementary School Playground Improvements Project

At the March 17, 2025, Meeting, Rosman Elementary School Principal Robert Dinsdale discussed planned playground improvements for the school, including upgrades to the Pre-K Playground.  Director Kerry Putnam will now provide the Board with updated information, including a preferred vendor quote, a copy of which is posted for review.

iv. Activity Buses

At the April 21, 2025, Meeting, the Board Members approved the TCS Budget
Request, subsequently approved by the Board of Commissioners on June 23, 2025. A separate line item in the approved Budget Request was for the purchase of two wheelchair-accessible activity buses.  The vendor sales contract for bus one and the order to purchase bus two require Board approval.

v. Fall 2025 Non-Faculty, Sports Coaches

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) requires local Boards to grant permission to employ non-faculty individuals as head coaches of
varsity or junior varsity teams.  As a rule, the Transylvania County Board of
Education approves all volunteer and contract coaches for Transylvania County Schools.  The full list of Fall 2025 Non-Faculty, Sports Coaches is posted. Director of County Athletics Mark Ellenberger will be available to answer any questions.
